“November Fun: Picking, Carrying, and Placing Apples & Acorns – A Montessori Activity”

りんごとどんぐりの「秋のネイチャートレイ」づくり

11月は Mountain & Movement（山と動き） をテーマに、季節をたっぷり感じるモンテッソーリ制作をしました。
今回のクラフトは、プラスチック素材の葉っぱに、りんごとどんぐりのモチーフをトングやピンセットで並べてつくる “秋のネイチャートレイ”。

とてもシンプルなのに、達成感もある作品となりました🍁

🍎 “できた！”がたくさん育つ、こだわりの仕掛け

このクラフト、ただの工作に見えて、実はモンテッソーリのエッセンスがぎゅっと詰まっています。
りんごやどんぐりを道具を使って
つまむ → はこぶ → そっと置く
という繰り返しの動きは、まさにお箸を使う前の大切なステップ。

• 指先の細かい力
• 目と手の協応
• 手首のコントロール
• 「自分でできた！」の自信

が、遊びの中で楽しく育ちます。

子どもの集中した横顔が本当に可愛くて、
「今、とんでもなく成長してる…！」
と感じられる時間でした♡

🍂 好きな葉っぱを選ぶところから、もうモンテッソーリ！

まず最初に、赤・黄・オレンジなどの葉っぱから、
自分の好きな1枚を選んでもらいます。

“選ぶ”という体験そのものが、
モンテッソーリの大切にしている
自分で決める力（Independence）
につながります。

りんごとどんぐりのモチーフは、小皿に分けてきれいに並べておきます。
整った環境は、子どもが自分で流れを理解しやすく、自然と集中が長く続くポイント◎

👀 大人は静かに“見せるだけ”。それで子どもは動きたくなる

制作の前に、大人が一度だけ、ゆっくりと
トングでつまんで → 葉っぱに置く
という動作だけを見せます。

説明はしすぎず、ただ丁寧に見せる。
これがモンテッソーリの「提示（Presentation）」。

すると、子どもたちは目をキラッとさせて、
「やってみたい！」
と自然に体が動きはじめます。

💬 英語の声かけもシンプルでOK♡

活動中は、短い英語がちょうどいいリズムになります。

• “Pick up the apple.”
• “Put it on the leaf.”
• “Nice and slow.”

ふわっと優しく伝えるだけで、子どもたちは自分で考えながら作っていきます。

🌰 できあがりは、ひとりひとりの“秋の世界”

完成した葉っぱには、子どもたちの自由な感性がたっぷり。
並べ方、余白、量…どれもその子らしくて素敵です。

シンプルに美しく並べる子もいれば、
「秋がいっぱい！」とたくさん飾る子も。
どれも大正解♡

作品は木製トレイに載せたり、壁に飾ったりすると、
とってもおしゃれで温かい仕上がりになります。

🍁11月も、自然とともに育つじかんでした

11月の自然を感じながら、
ゆったりと集中するときが流れました。

🍁 Making an Autumn Nature Tray with Apples and Acorns

In November, we explored Mountain & Movement as our theme and enjoyed a Montessori craft that really lets children feel the season.
This month’s activity was a simple yet delightful “Autumn Nature Tray”, where kids arranged apple and acorn motifs on plastic leaves using tongs or tweezers.

Even though it’s simple, the sense of achievement is huge! 🍁

🍎 A Special Activity That Nurtures “I Did It!”

At first glance, this craft may look like just a fun project, but it’s packed with Montessori principles.

Children use tools to:

pick up → carry → gently place

This repeated motion is an important step before learning to use chopsticks. Along the way, they naturally develop:

• Fine motor skills
• Eye-hand coordination
• Wrist control
• Confidence in “I did it myself!”

Watching their focused faces is so heartwarming—
you can almost feel how much they’re growing in that moment! 💛

🍂 Choosing Leaves: Montessori Independence

First, each child chooses their favorite leaf from red, yellow, or orange options.

The simple act of choosing builds one of the key Montessori skills:
Independence—making decisions on their own.

The apple and acorn pieces are arranged neatly in small plates.
A well-prepared environment helps children understand the flow of the activity naturally and maintain concentration for longer periods.

👀 Adults: Just Show Once, Then Step Back

Before starting, adults demonstrate once:

pick up the piece with tongs → place it on the leaf

No long explanations—just a calm, clear demonstration.
This is Montessori’s Presentation.

Immediately, children’s eyes light up, and they’re naturally motivated to try for themselves:
“I want to do it!”

During the activity, short English phrases are perfect for guiding children:

The colors of the leaves, the crisp air, the harvest of the season—November gave us a wonderful opportunity to feel nature while focusing and creating.

Next month, it’s finally Christmas!
